Current UAHU President

2019 UAHU President-Elect

It has been my honor to serve as UAHU's president this year.  I have gained a deeper appreciation of our past leaders and admire our current board who dedicates so much time and energy to protect the future of health care.  Together with NAHU, you can feel confident that steps are being taken to protect both the industry and our clients.

I want to thank each of you for your membership and your voice. More than ever I realize that only together is it possible to make a difference. I want to thank each of you who encouraged a colleague or friend to join the association this year. Growth in our membership is a core driver to our future success. Thanks to all who took action on key legislative issues. Your emails, phone calls and personal visits to your representatives made a difference.

With Martine's departure, we welcomed a new Executive Director. Unfortunately we were not able to keep Katie long-term, but that afforded us the opportunity to bring on Heather Bennett as our Executive Assistant and name Mike Sonntag as Executive Director. I want to warmly welcome Heather to UAHU!  Heather has already made a positive impact. She is highly engaged and has great excitement for the industry. Please take a moment to get to know her as you see her throughout the year.

Speaking of making an impact, UAHU's future is in very capable hands. Crystal Cowley brings a great mix of leadership, industry knowledge, technical breadth and passion for both agents and the clients we serve. She has worked tirelessly to make this year's Sales Congress a success. Her dedication, forethought and quick actions will guide the qualified board to a new level.  I am excited to see what 2019-2020 will bring with Crystal as our leader.

See you soon,

Trenton Olson
UAHU President

I have had a great time this last year serving as your President Elect. It has been a privilege to get to know some of you better through all the events and initiatives we have come together on to better our industry. I have always known this association provided exceptional educational opportunities through monthly lunches and our Sales Congress each May, but over the last few years I have learned just how influential we can truly be when we are all working together towards a common goal. This is the reason for my next year theme, Stand Up and Fight Together. With all the bills and initiatives at a local and federal level now is the time to speak up, to fight against additional taxes, single payer, and other detrimental initiatives impacting our clients, families and friends.

Our local Day On The Hill, and annual Capital Conference give our association the unique opportunity to sit in front of influential Senators and Representatives at a State and Federal level to educate them around the bills they will soon be voting on. I encourage each and every member to let us help educate you on the issues so you can help us speak up and be that resource our Representatives and Senators need when it comes time. These votes and issues will impact our businesses and careers, our clients that trust us to guide them best, and impact our own family and friends. It’s time to speak up, be innovative, challenge the status quo, and come together as a unified association to continue providing our communities with affordable options for Health Care.

I am looking forward to serving with a great board this next year and can’t wait to get started. Thank you for allowing me to serve you, I am looking forward to another great year.
